Cuban Telecom Company (Etecsa) has reported a new Virtual Private Server (VPS) rental service, which allows hosting websites and software applications.
This will make it easier for customers to access virtual servers on demand, using an instant catalog that includes a list of pre-defined services with specific pre-installed and configured OS and applications, as stated in an official note.
A one-time subscription fee of 250 pesos will be charged and the VPS service is offered to residents of Cuba over the age of 18 who are interested in hosting and managing their webpages or content of interest to them and developers of programs and applications.
To request them, the interested parties must go to the Etecsa specialized business unit closest to their residence, where they must purchase the service subscription, sign the contract, and once signed, the entity has 24 hours to notify the customer, by e-mail, providing you with the services.
To contract and use the service, the customer must have an email account at nauta ([email protected]), which he will use to authenticate in the management interface and receive information related to billing and service. If you do not have one, you must contract it through the currently established channels.
The offer includes a public IP address, through which the customer manages his virtual server and will have, from the administration interface, a control panel with a set of basic operations, in addition to the ability to activate additional payment services if desired.
The company expressed its guarantee to assist customers and respond to them as a priority via e-mail through the address [email protected], available 24 hours a day. The customer must specify the subject of the mail before any interruption, “VPS Report” to facilitate its classification.
