A tropical storm is forming in the Elsa Atlantic
(CNN) – The U.S. National Hurricane Center reports that the tropical depression has intensified and is now known as Tropical Storm Elsa.
The storm is blowing at a speed of 64 km / h and is located 1,390 km east-southeast of the Windward Islands. It is moving west at a speed of 40 km per hour.
Elsa will pass over or above the Windward Islands on Friday, with winds blowing and up to 8 inches of rain. It will then head into the eastern Caribbean Sea late on Friday and move near the southern coast of Hispaniola Island on Saturday.
Earlier next week, Elsa predicted access to the Florida Peninsula. “Considering the uncertainty of the long-term forecast, it is very quick to determine what impacts will be there next week,” says the National Hurricane Center.
Tropical storm monitoring is in place for Barbados, Martinique, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. A tropical storm warning is in effect for Guadeloupe.
