Barcelona, August 22 (EFE). Barcelona reached an agreement for a season with American striker Nigel Hayes, on Sunday, the Catalan club announced.
Barcelona said in a statement that the signing of the contract is pending the medical examination that the player must undergo. Hayes will meet again with Saronas Gaciquevicius in the Barcelona squad after meeting in Zalgiris Kaunas in the 2019-20 season.
The 26-year-old American, who is 2.03 tall, “is a strong player in defense and attack and offers versatility in the three (front) and fourth (front) positions,” according to Barcelona.
Nigel Hayes is a good three-point (44% correct in the Euroleague) and free throws (89%), a player who has the ability to help rebound. In the last Euroleague, he averaged 9.5 points and 3.9 rebounds in 26 minutes on the field per game.
Hayes trained at the University of Wisconsin, played seven NBA games in the 2017-2018 season with the Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings, and played in the same season in the NBA Development League with Westchester and Westchester teams. Toronto
