Ergin Ataman challenges Boston Celtics

Ergin Ataman challenges Boston Celtics

It’s a debate that almost goes on for a lifetime. When a team wins the NBA, it reads “world champion”; and that’s the world champion. Obviously, that happened again this year with the Boston Celtics and the counterattack winning the Euroleague. How? Pointing out on social media that they had to beat Panathinaikos, the current champion of Europe’s top continental competition, beforehand.

Following this line, the coach of the Greek team, Ergin Ataman, had no problem in emphasizing this challenge before the Greens so that they go to Athens and really show that they are the best team in the world.

“You are not the world champion. If you want to be the world champion, come and beat us, the Euroleague champions. If you are so confident, I tell you to come and beat us in OAKA,” Ataman says during an interview in Raven TV.

Aside from that hypothetical match, the coach also had time to comment on the possibility of coaching in the NBA, which does not close the door on him; yes, under certain conditions.

“Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks are in the finals, so they don’t need me. We can take a team from the bottom up. I won’t mention any names now, I’m very happy at Panathinaikos. If there is a team interested, they can come when my contract ends and we can talk.”
