The current champions, Ecuador, beat Bolivia 1-0 on Sunday in the second Group B date at the 2023 South American Under-20 Championship, which is being held in Colombia.
They, led by Jimmy Bran Orozco, won a header from Ecuadorian captain Garis Mina in the 79th minute in a match played at the almost empty Deportivo Cali stadium in the city of Palmira (southwest).
