Jaris Mina gave Ecuador a 1-0 win over Bolivia and goes on top of Group B of South America U20 | football | sports

The current champions, Ecuador, beat Bolivia 1-0 on Sunday in the second Group B date at the 2023 South American Under-20 Championship, which is being held in Colombia.

They, led by Jimmy Bran Orozco, won a header from Ecuadorian captain Garis Mina in the 79th minute in a match played at the almost empty Deportivo Cali stadium in the city of Palmira (southwest).

In one of La Tri’s clearest choices, Patrik Mercado finished on goal but without enough power to deflect Bruno Poveda’s hand.

Also in the first half, Ecuadorian Alan Menda recovered the ball after a mistake from the opponent’s defense, but he shot wide of the goal.

On the other hand, the Bolivians missed a golden opportunity after an hour of play. And Yomar Rocha hit from close range, but the ball rebounded from the hands of Ecuadorian goalkeeper Gilmar Napa. Lucas Chavez hit the rebound and finished the goal.

The second day of Group B culminated in the second hour match between Chile and Uruguay.

With this victory, Ecuador took first place with four points, after drawing with Chile 1-1 in their debut. Bolivia achieved a 1-0 victory over Venezuela in their debut and, with Sunday’s defeat, finished second by three units. (Dr)
