More than 300 runners will gather in the Science Race
On Friday, San Pedro Regalado Day, more than 300 runners will participate in the Science Race.
The competition, which this year is part of the program of activities scheduled for the World Day of Light, consists of a popular 12-kilometer race, which will start at 10:30 in the morning; whose beginning and end will be in the Museum of Science in Valladolid.
This race is characterized by its original route where the athletes, after climbing Cerro de las Contendas, have to cross the museum to reach the set target. Those interested in participating in this race can register, at a cost of €2, a maximum of half an hour before the start of the race in the museum’s private facilities.
Additionally, for the fourth year and as part of the museum’s accessibility plan, there will be a comprehensive 500m race targeting people with reduced mobility who need a wheelchair and their assistants. This competition, which will take place at 11 am, has registered over a dozen participants. The aim of this activity is to facilitate participation in sporting and cultural events for people with different abilities.
Before the competition, observers from El Palero Sports and Leisure Center will direct the contestants to warm up with the goal of avoiding unwanted injuries. The day will complete the tasting of Pardina Lentil from Tierra de Campos for the participants. All registrants will receive a bag containing supplies and a gift from the Science Museum. This activity is organized by the Science Museum of the Valladolid Municipal Culture Foundation, the Valladolid City Council and the Municipal Sports Foundation, sponsored by Aquaval, El Corte Ingles, Barxol Athletic, Coca-Cola, Mercolaid, Centros Supra, Helios and Lintel.
