Nuggets 117-90 Timberwolves Game Summary (May 10, 2024)
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Jamal Murray bounced back from his rough start in the Western Conference semifinals and scored 24 points to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 117-90 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 3 on Friday.
Denver, the defending NBA champion, closed the series 2-1. The Wolves became the last ranked team to lose this postseason.
Nikola Jokic, the three-time league MVP, had 24 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists. Michael Porter Jr. contributed 21 points and made 14 of 29 3-pointers for the Nuggets.
Anthony Edwards had a low-key 19-point night, but led the Wolves, who shot just 10 of 32 from long range, including four of five by Karl-Anthony Towns.
Minnesota just couldn't give Towns enough shots. The Dominican-American added 14 points.
Additionally, the Wolves fumbled the ball too often in desperate attempts to drive to the basket and looked slower than they had in the first two games in Denver.
Game 4, scheduled for Sunday in Minneapolis, was 34 points short
