This week’s first screenings in local theaters bring the long-awaited drama “House of Gucci” and the lively “Encondo”. Two different genres to delight the taste of Dominican movie goers.
“House of Gucci”
Ridley Scott, March 27, 1995 A look at the assassination of Mauricio Gucci, the heir apparent to Guccio Gucci, founder of the popular Italian luxury brand. The cast includes a high-profile cast including Lady Gaga and Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek and Al Pacino.
“Charm”
The new Disney movie tells the lofty story of a wonderful place called Encondo in the mountains of Colombia. Here, in a magical home, lives an extraordinary matrix family with amazing abilities for everyone. Directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush, Sarees co-directed by Castro Smith and co-written by Bush and Castro Smith with lyrics by Lynn-Manuel Miranda.
The cast is made up entirely of voices of Hispanic descent, featuring actors such as Stephanie Beatrice, Maria Cecilia Pottero, John Leguisamo, Mauro Castillo, Angie Zepeda, Carolina Cayden, and Diane Guerrero.
