Santo Domingo, July 20 (EFE). – This Tuesday, the Ministry of Public Health reported 12 deaths reported in the past 24 hours and 237 new infections with the COVID-19 virus.

The total number of confirmed cases since the beginning of the epidemic has reached 337,975, and the number of deaths has risen to 3,928, according to the figures provided in Tuesday’s bulletin.

The new cases of coronavirus in the country, with a decreasing trend in recent days, reached 53,402 cases, of which 706 people are hospitalized, which represents 26% of the available beds are occupied.

Intensive care units (ICUs) are at 40% of capacity, two percentage points lower than the day before, with 252 patients hospitalized, while ventilators are 33%, with 169 in use.

The positivity in the past four weeks, with a downward trend also, was 12.14%, and the daily positivity was 9.73%.
