Rachel Palkovich became the new director of player development for the Miami Marlins on Tuesday, taking another step in her professional baseball career, where she pioneered and made history within the New York Yankees.
Balkovic has worked for three organizations in professional baseball since 2012. The last two seasons he was manager of the Yankees' Class A affiliate, where he was important in closely monitoring the growth of young players.
The Spanish-language MLB portal noted that Palkovec is the first woman to serve as a full-time manager for an affiliated team in the major leagues. In being a hitting coach in a major league organization, and in being a strength and conditioning coach in the minor leagues.

The 36-year-old has two master's degrees in human movement science, and before joining the Bronx organization, he worked with the Danish national softball and baseball teams and companies such as LSU, ASU and EXOS.
