Santo Domingo hosts the 3×3 FIBA Nations League
The United States, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile and the host will face off over six days in the men’s and women’s competitions.
The Dominican Republic will host FIBA Nations League 3×3events to be held from 13 to 19 August in Santo Domingo.
Dominican men’s and women’s teams will be hosts at the event, which is being hosted by the United States, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Argentina and Chile.
The Dominican men’s under-23 team consists of Hamlet Ruiz, Juan Junior Rosario, Luismal Ferreira, Juan Luis Betansis, Jose Rodriguez and Raymond Bastardo.
The women’s under-23 team consists of: Thais Esmerlin Rojas, Yera Vanity, Joanna Calderon, Carla Pantalion, Yadira Polanco, and Phryne Boasdur.
The Dominican Republic has stood out in this way, competing in many events in recent years at the level of the great powers in the Americas.
The men’s teams have been responsible for securing medals at events such as the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla 2018 (silver) and bronze at the Pan American Games in Lima 2019, as well as at the Bolivarian Games in Valledupar 2022.
“We are very excited to celebrate this event in our country and We feel confident that we will have a good turnout. “We invite 3X3 basketball fans to join us in a continental-level tournament like this one,” said Elka Jimenez Garrido, National 3X3 Basketball Coordinator for the Dominican Republic.
Girls of the same style have also distinguished themselves internationally with their bronze medals at the Central American Games in Barranquilla and the Pan American Games in Lima. They also won a silver medal at the Junior Pan American Games in Cali in 2021 and at the Guadeloupe 2022 Caribbean Games.
The matches will take place from August 13-19 at the Dominican Fiesta Hotel in Santo Domingo and the premiere of the venue in this city is the first to be held on the American continent.
