Corinthians From Brazil to claim its first crown in this tournament. Dimao heads Group F alongside the Argentinians; Race of Uruguay and National of Paraguay.

Security and justice From 2020 champions Argentina, Group A is joined by Deportivo Independiente Medellin, Universidad César Vallejo from Peru and ever-ready Bolivia.

The best from each of the eight groups will play in the round of 16, while the defenders will play a playoff against the best third of the Copa Libertadores groups to advance to that stage. The Round of 16 will begin in mid-August.
