The new public space KM 5 . was opened today
Today the President Ortiz neighborhood celebrates its 116th anniversary – which is celebrated every 15th of this month – with the opening of Sector Square, in the space next to the old railway station in the historic center, where there are various recreational activities for the whole family.
This work is part of a plan that seeks to appreciate the heritage of a historic district, with interventions such as the Interpretation Center and Cultural Center at the former station and Coastal Walk, working alongside the neighborhood and association behind the bridge.
It should be noted that the current municipal administration headed by Juan Pablo Luc is committed to restoring the various public spaces of the city and especially those of significant importance to the Comodorenses.
On this occasion, progress has been made in restoring the railway station to convert it very soon into a cultural center, and in defining a new public space so that President Ortiz has a healthy place, as it is repeated in the various sectors of the city, always preserving and reflecting on the cultural heritage of KM 5.
Among the tasks that have been developed: the installation of lights and landscaping responsible for the garden area and walking to leave them according to needs, which the residents of the area and all Komodoro can enjoy with a larger area. For families’ entertainment.
For their part, the neighbors emphasized that the work of the square is an old dream that began to come true when Juan Pablo Luc was vice mayor of the municipality, who promised to revive this historic neighborhood and fulfill his promise.
Management has the premise that these actions change the neighborhood’s vision and people enjoy it because they have more spaces to share with family and the outdoors.
