Xunta continues to advance in the integrated wellness center in Lalín with the waterproofing of the roofs and the formation of slopes in practice

Santiago de Compostela, May 7, 2022. – Xunta continues to advance at the Comprehensive Wellness Center in Lalín by waterproofing the roofs, shaping the slopes and practically installing carpentry subframes.

At present, works are focused on waterproofing roofs, the formation of slopes has already been carried out in three of them and the formation of the upper roof has already begun.

Radon board was also installed on the walls and floor of the basement corridor, and the floors were insulated on three floors. In addition, external waterproofing plastering work is carried out for the facade.

In regards to the masonry, the outer structure is carried out in the lower walkway and the subframes are laid for the outer joinery. In addition, the settlement is made for the second walk and the provision of terrazzo.

The works, which employ 16 workers today, will continue in the coming weeks with the start of electrical installations and the commencement of roof sewage works, as well as the completion of waterproofing.

First-class equipment

These facilities, with an investment of €9 million from Xunta, consist of a health center and a point of continuous care (PAC) that will provide first-class equipment for users to provide a primary care service.

The complex is divided into 4 areas, in different shares: 3 for the health center and the other for the PAC that occupies one of the three arms of the building.

Inside, the building will house the assistance area, with medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dental consultations, technical rooms, sample rooms and multipurpose; Also the pediatric area. of medical specialties. and complementary units, such as home hospitalization, women’s care, mental health, rehabilitation and dialysis, among others.

The entrance includes a square that leads to two public entrances to the building.

The center will serve 35,000 residents of the municipalities of Lalín, Agolada, Rodeiro and Dozón, but will also provide some assistance to the residents of Silleda and Vila de Cruces.

This action was funded under the ERDF Galicia Operational Program 2014-2020, as part of the European Union’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
