Cavs trade Jefferson, Felder to Hawks

Richard Jefferson and Kay Felder are reportedly headed to the Hawks.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are finalizing a deal to send veteran small forward Richard Jefferson and second-year point guard Kay Felder to the Atlanta Hawks, according to a report by The Vertical.

The trade will trim the Cavs’ roster down to 15, with opening night next week.

USA TODAY Sports reports the Cavs will receive the draft rights to Dimitrios Agravanis and Sergii Gladyr.

ESPN is adding that the Hawks will likely waive Jefferson and Felder.

Jefferson averaged 5.7 points per game last season while Felder was at 4.0.

  1. I would love to see him at Fox Sports Ohio.

It’s hard for pro-athletes to retire. They will never again feel the high of playing in front of thousands of cheering fans. Having that level of peak experience. RJ peaked in The Finals 2 years ago in the greatest comeback of all time in the NBA. So he can hold his head up high. Felder, I have a hard time seeing him as an NBA player. Good move for the Cavs who can now focus on their new roster.
