Celtics’ Hayward receiving strong interest from Nike, New Balance, Anta

Celtics forward Gordon Hayward says he intends to be ready for the season-opening game.

Boston Celtics small forward Gordon Hayward is receiving “strong interest” from Nike, New Balance and Chinese brand Anta, according to ESPN’s Nick DePaula.

Anta is set to pitch Hayward on a multi-year shoe deal on Monday night in San Diego. Rajon Rondo, Klay Thompson and Chandler Parsons currently have deals with the brand.

Hayward’s deal with Nike expires at the end of August. The 28-year-old is on track to participate in training camp in September after suffering a fractured left ankle in the Celtics’ season-opening loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct. 17.
