Chances Leonard doesn’t report to Raptors are remote

Kawhi Leonard will be an unrestricted free-agent in 2019.

Although Kawhi Leonard is still upset being traded to the Toronto Raptors, the chances he doesn’t report to training camp are very unlikely, according to Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports.

Leonard has no interest in playing for the Raptors, but the team can fine him for every practice and game he misses and it wouldn’t be a good look for Leonard, who will be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski said on SportsCenter that Leonard was coming around on the idea of playing for a competitive team next season.

Leonard, however, is not expected to re-sign with the Raptors and wants to be in Los Angeles. The two-time Defensive Player of the Year has one week to report to the Raptors and take a physical. Leonard missed most of this past season with a lingering quadriceps injury.
