Charge stymied by too much Energy

Pelicans guard Quinn Cook is averaging 26.0 points in the D-League.

The Canton Charge are getting three shots at the same team this week and the good news is they appear to be improving each time.

The bad news is the Charge are off to an 0-2 start vs. the Iowa Energy following a 106-101 loss Wednesday in Des Moines, Iowa.

Game 3 of their regular-season set concludes Friday night back in Canton — where the Energy easily won last weekend.

On Wednesday, the Charge (2-6) were able to keep it considerably closer, thanks to some fine play from the likes of rookie guard Quinn Cook (25 points) and Cavaliers assignee Joe Harris (23). Center Michael Dunigan added 17 points and six rebounds.

Joel Wright led the Energy (6-2) with 36 points.

Iowa shot 30-of-39 from the free-throw line, compared to just 10-of-11 for Canton.

Friday’s game is scheduled to tip-off at 7 p.m. The Charge will wear, and auction off, special jerseys to celebrate “All for Ohio Night.”
