Free-agent forward Michael Beasley is nearing a deal with the Guangdong Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Beasley signed with the Lakers before the season then was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers at the deadline earlier this month. The Clippers promptly waived him.
Beasley averaged 7.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 26 games with the Lakers this season. He was selected second overall by the Miami Heat in the 2008 draft and has spent his career bouncing around the league.
His contract with Guangdong is for two months, Wojnarowski reported. Beasley remains an NBA free agent and can sign with any team. (Though by league rules, he cannot sign with the Lakers for one year to the day on which he was traded.)
