Free agent guard Caruso lands two-year deal with Lakers

Combo guard Alex Caruso apparently is returning to LA for another run with the Lakers.

Free agent guard Alex Caruso will return to the Los Angeles Lakers on a two-year contract, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The deal is reportedly worth $5.5 million.

Caruso, 25, is 6-foot-4 and went undrafted out of Texas A&M in 2016. He appeared in 25 games with the Lakers this past season. He averaged 9.2 points and 3.1 assists while shooting 45 percent from the floor.

Following the Lakers’ many signings Saturday, Caruso will be part of a veteran backcourt that includes Danny Green, Rajon Rondo and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. The Lakers also signed point guard Quinn Cook on Saturday and are bringing in former Phoenix Suns shooting guard Troy Daniels as well.
