Lakers’ Kuzma lands five-year sneaker deal with Puma

Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma averaged 18.7 points in his second NBA season.

Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma has signed a five-year endorsement contract with Puma, according to Shams Charania of Stadium.

The deal is worth $3 million per season, Marc Stein of the New York Times added. The deal was reportedly finalized last week and Kuzma will become the face of the company.

Kuzma, is expected to be out until at least the middle of the month with a lower leg/ankle injury. Once healthy, he is expected to come off the bench behind frontcourt stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Kuzma is 6-foot-9 and entering his third season, He is coming off a year in which he averaged 18.7 points and 5.5 rebounds in 70- games.

The Lakers have missed the playoffs a franchise record three straight seasons. They open the preseason Saturday vs. the Golden State Warriors at the new Chase Center in San Francisco.
