Leonard has no interest in playing for Raptors, could sit out

Kawhi Leonard has no interest in playing for the Toronto Raptors and there have been indications that he could sit out the entire season if necessary, according to a report from Sean Deveney of Sporting News.

The San Antonio Spurs traded Leonard and Danny Green to the Raptors Wednesday in exchange for DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl and a protected draft pick.

Both Leonard and DeRozan didn’t want the trade to happen, as Leonard wants to play in Los Angeles while DeRozan was happy in Toronto.

Leonard hasn’t taken a physical with the Raptors and has one week to take it. He missed most of this past season with a lingering quadriceps injury.

The two-time Defensive Player of the Year will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2019.

I’m starting to really not like this guy.

  2. If he sits out this would be the end of his career. Unless he is unrestricted he dont get to choose which team he wants to play for. So if he doesn’t honor his contract he won’t play again in the NBA. Owners stick together plus the NBA will make sure another player dont do the same thing. So Kawhi Lakers are looking for high for high character guys so you better give Toronto your full 100.
