Whiteside sat out Wednesday’s road loss to the New York Knicks after playing 19 minutes the previous night in Cleveland. The 7-footer is getting frustrated by the ailment and told reporters he’s going to miss additional time.
“It’s really bothering me, man,” Whiteside told reporters. “We’re going to figure it out. We’re going to figure it out when we get back to Miami and figure out what’s wrong. It has really been bothering me throughout the season. You know, I sat out, I missed them games, I came back and it’s still bothering me.”
Whiteside, who is averaging 14.9 points, 12.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, missed five games after initially suffering a bone bruise on Oct. 18.
