Larry Nance Jr. made no secret how excited he was to play with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers after being acquired from the Los Angles Lakers at the trade deadline last season.
With James having signed a four-year, $153 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in July, Nance was asked by Express Sports in the United Kingdom what he believes the Lakers can accomplish this season with James now at the fore.
“With LeBron, anything is possible,” Nance said. “I think it’ll be a very tough road because arguably, three of the best four teams are out west.
“You’re going to have to go through Golden State, Houston, Oklahoma City — there’s some really good teams out there.
“Their work is certainly cut out.”
Nance, acquired along with Jordan Clarkson in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye and Cleveland’s 2018 first-round draft choice Feb. 8, said he has spoken to some of his former Lakers teammates and stressed to be prepared for James’ renowned work ethic.
“I’ve talked to them a little bit, I’m still very close with a couple of them,” he said. “I’ve told them to be at your best because he works so hard that it makes you want to work as hard.
“He’s a great north star to have for your team.”
