Former Utah Jazz front-office staffer Andrae Patterson has been hired as the Cleveland Cavaliers’ director of basketball administration, according to a report from cleveland.com.
“Patterson, 41, will work in a number of areas for the Cavs, from various player development programs to scouting both in the U.S. and overseas,” wrote Joe Vardon of cleveland.com. “He joins general manager Koby Altman’s staff after working as a personnel/player programs coordinator for the Jazz since 2015.”
Patterson played his college ball at Indiana and was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round (No. 46 overall) of the 1998 draft. He spent three years in the NBA, followed by eight years overseas.
Prior to joining the Jazz front office, Patterson was an assistant coach with the Idaho Stampede of the G League. He has served as Utah’s player personnel/player programs coordinator since 2015.
