Booker to sign with Pacers after Sixers buyout

Trevor Booker apparently is headed to the Pacers.

Former Philadelphia 76ers big man Trevor Booker will sign with the Indiana Pacers upon clearing waivers, according to a report from Yahoo Sports.

Multiple outlets reported Booker agreed to a contract buyout Wednesday. The Sixers waived Booker to make room for veteran forward Ersan Ilyasova.

According to the Yahoo report, Booker will sign a minimum deal for the rest of the season.

Booker, 30, was part of a trade earlier this season centered on center Jahlil Okafor, who was shipped to the Brooklyn Nets.

Booker’s role in Philadelphia had been limited — with the 6-foot-8 power forward averaging 4.7 points and 3.7 rebounds.
