Sacramento Kings big man Kosta Koufos will exercise his $8.7 million player option and return to the club for the 2018-19 season, according to ESPN.
Koufos is a 7-foot center and averaged 6.7 points and a career-high 6.6 rebounds in 71 games last season, coming off the bench for all but 12 games.
He will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of next season.
Koufos, 29, is a product of Canton (Ohio) GlenOak High School, where he was a teammate of Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum.
Koufos has also played for the Utah Jazz, Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves, before signing with the Kings in 2015.
