The Orlando Magic are exploring the trade market for swingman Mario Hezonja as the deadline to decide on his option approaches, according to a report from Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders.
The Magic must make a decision by today.
According to Scotto, the Magic were in talks with Sacramento about a proposed trade that would send Hezonja to the Kings for guard Malachi Richardson and second-round pick. But those talks have stalled, Scotto noted.
Hezonja is 6-foot-8 and the Magic selected him with the No. 5 overall pick in 2015. He is averaging 4.5 points in six games this season. Last year, he averaged 4.9 points in 65 games.
Hezonja has largely been a disappointment as a draft pick from the old regime.
