The Milwaukee Bucks are waiving point guard Gary Payton II and signing shooting guard Sean Kilpatrick, according to a report from ESPN.
Payton II, 25, played in 11 games this season, starting six. He compiled averages of 9.4 points and 2.5 assists. He also played in six games with the Bucks last year.
ESPN reported the Bucks’ decision to waive Payton II was “not a popular move in the locker room.”
Kilpatrick, 27, was released by the Brooklyn Nets last week following the Nets trade for big man Jahlil Okafor (from the Philadelphia 76ers).
He averaged 4.9 points and 2.2 rebounds in 16 games this season. Kilpatrick played 70 games for the Nets last season and averaged 13.1 points. He has also spent time with the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves.
