Pelicans still looking to make moves?

Dante Cunningham has been traded from the Pelicans to the Nets.

The New Orleans Pelicans are finalizing a one-year contract with free agent guard Tony Allen and invited forward Perry Jones to training camp Monday, and may not be finished.

According to the New Orleans Advocate, free agent forward Dante Cunningham remains on the team’s radar, as are other players who can defend the wing positions.

The Pelicans are attempting to replace starting small forward Solomon Hill, who tore a hamstring while working out in Los Angeles last month. The injury required surgery and Hill is expected to miss most of the regular season.

Cunningham, 30, is 6-foot-8 and averaged 6.6 points in 66 games with the Pelicans last season. He became a free agent in July and remains unsigned.

The Pelicans have also been linked to Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Iman Shumpert, as well as Shabazz Muhammad. However, the Cavs may have backed off on Shumpert talks, and Muhammad reportedly is returning to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Darius Miller is currently the lone small forward on the New Orleans roster following the trade of Quincy Pondexter to the Chicago Bulls.
