The Portland Trail Blazers have picked up the option on third-year guard Pat Connaughton, according to a report from CSN Northwest.
Per the report: “The Blazers had until Thursday to decide whether to keep Connaughton or waive him, a deadline that was extended from the original June 25 date in order to give the Blazers more flexiblilty. Blazers president of basketball operations Neil Olshey notified Connaughton shortly after 9 a.m.”
Connaughton is 6-foot-5 and appeared in 73 games off the bench last season, but averaged just 1.8 points.
“Time to make some shots,’’ Connaughton texted CSNNW.
The Trail Blazers have 14 players under guaranteed contract, with room still for one more.
