Another Plumlee is reportedly on the move. This time it’s Mason Plumlee, who has been traded from Portland to Denver, Yahoo Sports reported Sunday.
More precisely, Plumlee and a second-round draft pick are being dealt to Denver for center Jusuf Nurkic and a 2017 first-rounder, per the report.
This follows a trade in which Plumlee’s brother, center Miles Plumlee, was shipped from Milwaukee to Charlotte (for center Roy Hibbert and forward Spencer Hawes) a week ago.
As Yahoo noted, the trade of Mason Plumlee gives the Blazers three first-round picks in the June draft.
“Portland had been weighing the market on several possible center acquisitions, but settled on the Nurkic-Plumlee deal on Sunday morning, league sources said,” Yahoo wrote.
Plumlee, 26, is averaging 11.1 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. He should offer the Nuggets the rim-protector they so desperately needed in their quest to earn a playoff spot.
Nurkic, 22, is averaging 8.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in his third NBA season.
