Wizards’ Mac out for six-to-eight months

Shelden Mac appeared in 30 games as a rookie last season with the Wizards.

Washington Wizards swingman Sheldon Mac underwent surgery on his left Achilles’ tendon and will miss six-to-eight months, the team announced in a press release.

Mac went undrafted out of Miami (Fla.) and played in 30 games with the Wizards last season, averaging 3.0 points and 1.1 rebounds.

Per Hoops Rumors: “Mac’s 2017/18 salary is mostly non-guaranteed, but the Wizards will have to pay his salary until he returns to health, whether or not he remains on the roster. If Washington expects him to miss most or all of the season, the club may waive him simply to open up a roster spot.”
