The Phoenix Suns have received lots of interest in veteran small forward Trevor Ariza, not just from the Los Angeles Lakers, according to a report from John Gambadoro of ArizonaSports.com.
In fact, Gambadoro reported, at least eight teams have an interest in trading for Ariza.
But Gambadoro reported the sides are not close on a trade. And despite some rumors, the Suns are not interested in trading for Lakers shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and a bench player, Gambadoro added.
Ariza, 33, was a key contributor on the NBA’s best regular-season team last season, a key contributor for the 65-win Houston Rockets. He signed a one-year, $15 million contract with the Suns during the offseason.
I get the feeling the Suns have no interest in adding more projects to the roster. They want guys that can play now. So I doubt they would go after a Markelle Fultz or even Lonzo Ball.

By league rules, he could not be traded until Saturday.
“I’m not one to get somewhere and then just duck out,” Ariza said recently. “I’m one to be in it, regardless of whatever the situation is. Fight until the end. That’s the type of person that I am, and that’s what I expect.”
Ariza is averaging 9.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists this season.
