Canton Charge point guard Quinn Cook received a second 10-day contract, and his first with the New Orleans Pelicans, prior to the Pelicans’ game Sunday vs. the Minnesota Tiumberwolves.
Cook played one minute in the Pelicans’ 123-109 win, missing his lone shot (a 3-pointer) and passing for one assist.
Cook was previously called up by the Dallas Mavericks, then sent back to Canton after that 10-day deal expired earlier this month.
The second-year player and reigning D-League Rookie of the Year is averaging 26.0 points and 6.6 assists in 39 games with the Charge. He averaged 5.4 points in 15 minutes in his five games with the Mavericks.
Cook did not receive an NBA call-up all of last season and his first one this year didn’t come until after he was named MVP of the D-League All-Star Game in February.
He attended training camp with the Pelicans but did not make the final cut.
Cook is wearing No. 22 for New Orleans.
