Jennings was waived by the Knicks Monday and still has to clear waivers before any deal can officially take place.
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reports Jennings will arive in D.C. Wednesday to sign the deal, which cannot become official until the Wizards create an open roster spot.
Trey Burke is a likely candidate to be waived to make room for Jennings, as the Wizards were reportedly trying to trade him before the deadline, but did not find a deal.
Jennings would add depth to a Wizards’ roster which was recently upgraded with the acquistion of Bojan Bogdanovic and would play a big role as John Wall’s backup.
The Wizards (34-23) are in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, 6.5 games out of first and trail the Raptors by a half-game for the three seed.
