Report: Muhammad will return to Wolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves renounced the rights to small forward Shabazz Muhammad back in July, making the versatile swingman a free agent for the first time in his young career.

Muhammad, though, didn’t get picked up by a team during the summer.

The Undefeated previously reported that the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks were expected to pursue Muhammad, but no talks ever emerged.

In mid-August, ESPN 1500 claimed the Wolves’ front office was trying to convince Muhammad to come back for the minimum, and according to ESPN, Tom Thibodeau and his staff have succeeded in their efforts as Muhammad is finalizing a deal to return to the North Star State.

In four years with Minnesota, Muhammad averaged 9.7 points while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 32.3 percent on 3-pointers.
