The Minnesota Timberwolves intend to sign point guard Isaiah Canaan to a 10-day contract, according to a report from Shams Charania of Stadium.
Canaan, 27, was a second-round pick of the Houston Rockets in 2013 and has bounced around the league since then. Along with the Rockets, he has spent time with the Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls and most recently the Phoenix Suns.
Canaan is 6-foot-0 and averaged 7.5 points and 3.3 assists in 19 appearances with the Suns this season.
The Timberwolves have been without their main points guards recently — Derrick Rose (ankle), Jeff Teague (foot) and Tyus Jones (ankles).
