Former NBA forward and current basketball analyst Richard Jefferson joined the FOX Sports program “First Things First” and said the only thing that will keep the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors a force is the return of Kevin Durant.
That appears to be very much up in the air, as Durant can opt out of his contract and move on in July. Rumors have him linked to everyone from the Los Angeles Lakers to the New York Knicks to a return to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Oh, the Warriors are in there, too.
“KD is the key, we’ve all known this,” Jefferson said. “KD is the key because Draymond (Green), Steph (Curry) and Klay (Thompson) won’t be enough. Right? That’s not enough to dominate the league the way they have been.”
