The Philadelphia 76ers have hired the law firm of Paul/Weiss to investigate president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo, according to a report from ESPN.
The Ringer published a report last week citing sources that claim Colangelo has multiple burner Twitter accounts which he uses to criticize players and reveal sensitive team information.
The probe has become increasingly focused on Colangelo’s wife and Colangelo is expected to lose his job.
Per ESPN, Paul/Weiss is using cyber intelligence consultants to assist them in the investigation, which has included Colangelo surrendering his phones and electronic devices for scrutiny.
Both Colangelo and his wife will be interviewed separately in this probe.
The Sixers are pushing for a resolution as soon as early this week so that they can move on from this fiasco.
