Sixers waive two-way swingman Highsmith

Haywood Highsmith appeared in five games with the 76ers as a rookie last season.

The Philadelphia 76ers have waived swingman Haywood Highsmith, who spent most of last season on a two-way contract, the team announced in a news release.

Highsmith is 6-foot-7 and appeared in five games with the Sixers, averaging 1.8 points.

He spent most of the year with the Delaware Blue Coats, the Sixers’ G- League affiliate. Highsmith appeared in 46 games in the G League, averaging 12.2 points and 6.9 rebounds.

He went undrafted in 2018 out of Wheeling (W.Va.) Jesuit University, a Division II program. He is likely to find a spot in the G League again next season, perhaps back in Delaware.
