Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal suffered a right facial contusion during Wednesday’s road loss to the Philadelphia 76ers and will have an eye exam on Thursday.
Beal got hit in the face by Sixers guard Jerryd Bayless. He left the game briefly but returned and finished with 21 points.
The Wizards lost by a final score of 118-113 and are now 11-10 on the year.
“The eye is very important,” Beal told reporters in the postgame locker room. “So [the doctor] said there might be some things in the back going on that might not affect you right now, but could affect me tonight or tomorrow.”
Washington can ill afford to lose Beal for any time at all, as star point guard John Wall is dealing with a sore knee and will miss at least two weeks.
