The National Hurricane Center is watching two tropical waves

The National Hurricane Center (NHC, in English) in Miami reported that it is watching two tropical waves with a low probability of developing in the coming days.

CNH monitors two waves with a low probability of developing in 5 days. An increase in precipitation is expected on the islands.

The federal agency indicated in its 8:00 p.m. report that the system closest to Puerto Rico has a 10% probability of developing in the next 48 hours and 20% in the next five days.

“Heavy rain is likely in selected areas on parts of the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Hispaniola in the coming days,” the bulletin said.

The other wave has 20% in 48 hours and 30% in the next 5 days.

“Regardless of its development, this system will locally produce heavy rain and gale-force winds in parts of the central and northern Lesser Antilles on Tuesday, and in the Virgin Islands and northern Lesser Antilles on Wednesday,” he added.

The National Weather Service San Juan (SNM) forecast an increase in rain and thunderstorms midweek. It can also be affected by marine conditions, which have already deteriorated due to the proximity of a tropical wave in the region.

On the other hand, the NHC is also monitoring another disturbance, but this one is off the coast of North Carolina and has only a 10% chance of forming in the next five days.
