The government is preparing to vaccinate all adults from May 1

Puerto Rico’s National Guard General Assistant, Jose Reyes, said today that Puerto Rico is on track to get all adults eligible to receive the vaccine by May 1.

These expressions were made during his visit to the “one-shot” mega vaccination event in Naranjito, where, in alliance with the Ministry of Health and the municipality, it was expected that 1500 doses would be applied at the end of the day.

“Nearly 100,000 doses are arriving in Puerto Rico in What is Pfizer and Moderna and now they are increasing with these doses (from Johnson & Johnson),” he told Metro.

Reyes confirmed that this stock will increase in the coming weeks until Puerto Rico receives 120,000 to 140,000 doses per week, which will lead to expanding the vaccination scope to include more adults.

“There is no need to amend the vaccination plan, as it was part of the expectations that were evaluated, and there are many fronts that will be made, and permanent and temporary vaccination centers will be increased in different cities.” He continued: “A single dose dose can be accelerated.”
