Darwin Nunez has given a big hint that he might be on his way to Liverpool this summer by liking Roberto Firmino’s Instagram post.

The Reds are set to break their transfer record to sign the 22-year-old Uruguayan and Benfica striker in a deal comprising of £68m up front and at least £17m in add-ons for a total fee of around £85m.

Nunez will fill the void left by Sadio Mane’s impending exit from Bayern Munich as Jurgen Klopp develops his team’s attacking streak in preparation for a new title attack.

The Benfica star has been closely linked with a move to the Reds in recent days, and he is said to have already agreed to the personal terms of his summer move to Anfield.

The Uruguayan striker has now hinted that this may be the case after liking Firmino’s Instagram post from Thursday night, while the Anfield Edition page confirmed he had liked and followed the Reds striker.

The forward appeared emotional when he visited the Manah Church in the Brazilian city of Maceio along with his wife Larissa Pereira, 29.

Anfield fan favorite Firmino stood beside his wife at the Christian church before taking to the stage to help give a sermon.

His social media activity may have given the game away and could fit right in with the anticipation of Mane leaving.

The striker scored six goals in the Champions League last season, two of which came in the quarter-final against Liverpool, and made a huge impression on Klopp.

Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Newcastle have also been linked with Nunez’s moves this summer, but it is Klopp and Liverpool who are in charge.

Meanwhile, Mane was the subject of a second bid from Bayern Munich totaling £30m on Wednesday.

Liverpool handled the matter the same way they received it over the weekend, and immediately dismissed it with the feeling that the offer was sarcastic.
