Big river .- On Saturday, January 30th, the first tournament of the year of the chess workshop was held in the municipality of Rio Grande (Switzerland, 6 rounds, 12′ + 3 “) The activity took place at Young Space, in the AGP neighborhood.
After the first round in which all the ranked players won, Leandro Frutos defeated Lionel Yanacon in the second round, thanks to a strong mid-match. In the third season, Salvador Almiron (3) defeated Francisco Ortiz, after receiving a clear advantage in the opening match, and led the centers along with Jonathan Revolo (3) and Frutos the aforementioned (3). These two will hold the reins for another round: Frutus (4) leaving Almiron (3) on the road – in the Junior Cutoff final – and Revolo (4) defeating Belen Romero (2). Meanwhile, Ortiz (2.5) and Foschiatti (2.5) agreed to draw a finale with queens, ravens and pawns, and a few seconds on their watches.
The duel between the two leaders took place in the fifth and penultimate season of the competition: after several changes to cut in the middle of the half, Frutus (5) defeated his opponent (4), while Almiron (3.5) and Yanacon (3.5) were victorious, and with the same result Fuchiati and Ortiz appeared.
In the sixth and final round, Ortiz attacked – with the black pieces – file D and left Frutus undefeated, who are in first place with 5 points, ahead of Almiron, Ortiz and Fuchiati (all 4.5).
In fifth place was Revollo (4), and sixth came Jazmín Donda (4), who defeated the new colossal Estefanía Amarilla as the best woman in the tournament.
Of the unseeds, Belen Romero (3), Renzo Mocchetti (3) and Amarilla mentioned above (2.5) completed the podium.
Belgrano II base
