Mavs agree on deal with second-round pick Spalding

Second-round draft pick Ray Spalding of Louisville has agreed to his rookie deal with the Mavericks.

The Dallas Mavericks have agreed on a four-year contract with second-round pick Ray Spalding, according to a report.

Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports the pact will be worth at least $5.72 million, Spalding’s four-year minimum. However, the contract is unlikely to be fully guaranteed.

The 6-foot-10, 215-pound power forward out of Louisville was selected by the Mavericks with the 56th overall pick in the draft June 21. In his last season at Louisville, he averaged 12.3 points and 8.7 boards in 27,7 minutes per game.

Thursday, the Mavericks re-signed face-of-the-franchise big man Dirk Nowitzki and guard Yogi Ferrell.
