Ex-Buckeye Thompson signs with Warriors

Trevor Thompson averaged 10.6 points as a center for Ohio State last season.

The Golden State Warriors have signed center Trevor Thompson, the team announced on its website.

Thompson is 7-foot-0 and went undrafted out of Ohio State. He averaged 10.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 32 games with the Buckeyes last season.

Thompson, 23, played with the Boston Celtics in the Las Vegas summer league this past July, averaging 2.3 points and 1.5 rebounds in four games.

The Warriors’ roster stands at 19 players. Coach Steve Kerr told reporters cuts will be made following the preseason finale Friday.
