The Dominican Chess Federation has expressed its gratitude to the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MESCYT), Dr. Franklin García Firmin, who announced during the opening of the LXIII National Championships for Outstanding Women in Chess 2021, that the winners of the first places will be awarded with national or international scholarships, with the aim of continuing to expand Their knowledge is at the highest level.

In the country’s highest women’s event, 24 chess players from 13 provinces in the country competed, and the opening ceremony was led by the President of the Dominican Chess Federation (FDA), Pedro Dominguez Preto, along with the president of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), Antonio Acosta, at Albergue Olímpico Dominicano, It is located in Ensanche la Fe, in the national area.

Master Fedi Braulio Ramirez highlighted that these scholarships for female chess players will be a great motivation to raise their professional status. “To continue preparing Dominican youth who want to continue training, as an educational institution, we must help the Dominican society because we are facing a population that lacks opportunities, and integrate in the face of many of the values ​​that the state possesses so that they can have the best conditions of life.”
